Caving Adventure Experience in the Derbyshire Peak District

Things to know
About the Activity
What makes our caving course unique is its tailored approach to each group, ensuring that whether you're a first-time caver or have some experience, the course matches your ability and confidence levels. Unlike shorter caving experiences, ours is a full-day course, giving you more time underground for a deeper, more rewarding exploration of the cave system. This isn’t a show cave with handrails; it’s a real wild caving adventure, where you'll navigate natural tunnels, chambers, and optional squeezes. With small group sizes, you’ll receive individual attention and support, making for a more immersive and personal experience. Plus, you’ll be guided by an experienced caving instructor who will share their expertise on cave formations, history, and techniques, ensuring both your safety and enjoyment throughout the day.6 hours

We’ll meet at Castleton Visitor Centre car park, then take a short drive to the chosen cave. Once there, you’ll be provided with all the necessary caving equipment before we begin our underground adventure.
Depending on the group and conditions, we’ll either explore one larger cave system or visit two smaller caves during the day. You'll navigate through tunnels, chambers, and rock formations, while discovering the fascinating history and geology of the caves.
For those who enjoy a challenge, there will be opportunities to tackle optional squeezes and crawls, adding an extra element of adventure.
This is a hands-on experience, giving you the chance to immerse yourself in the underground world, build confidence in a new environment, and enjoy the thrill of real caving with an experienced guide.
By the end of the day, you’ll walk away with a newfound appreciation for the hidden world beneath our feet—and plenty of great memories!View Location
