About the Activity
The Lake Sandoval in Tambopata Reserved, is located a few minutes from the Tambopata River, you can observe there, through a boat ride, the great diversity of flora and fauna of this place, species of all kinds such as river otters, alligators, otters and turtles, as well as harpy eagles that can be seen along the route. The Tambopata National Reserve is also home to native communities that have inhabited it since ancient times. Reception at the airport or bus station, transfer to our office, then departure for the river port where we will take the boat, which will take us to our lodge for a forty-five minute journey. Welcome meeting, with a delicious local fruit juice and installation in your rooms.
After resting, you will have an introduction two-hour walk in the rainforest, guided by experienced local guide, who will take you through our trails system and you will be able to observe the wonderful flora, the giant trees which can be more than five hundred years old, at the same time you can see birds (toucans, orioles, Black-tailed Trogon, macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc. You have the opportunity to experience the magic of our jungle.
After lunch, take a relaxing break and explore all the facilities around our lodge, nestled in the heart of the jungle.
Also before dinner will do a caiman’s searching along the Madre de Dios river with high chances to see more nocturnal animals.
