What you can expect in a typical batik class:
1. You'll learn about the origins of this art form and its various styles and techniques.
2.Tools and Materials: familiarize you with the tools and materials used in batik. These typically include a canting (a small copper or brass tool with a spout for applying hot wax), a wax pot, fabric, dyes, and brushes.
3.Pattern Creation: You'll learn how to create or select a design for your batik piece.
4. Wax Application: In batik, hot wax is applied to the fabric to create a resist for the dyes.
5. Dyeing: Once the wax has dried and set on the fabric, it's time to start dyeing.
