A few years ago, the Municipality of La Ceiba decided to create a beach park on the western part of the city. The beach that was for years called the beach at the Colonia los Maestros, was transformed, and renamed the Paseo de los Ceibeños. This is by far the best public beach in town. The interventions included a parking lot, benches, and public lighting. These basic improvements made the area much more attractive to locals.
