About the Activity
In this Azulejo tile glazing workshop, you will have the opportunity to create your own beautiful tile in the traditional Portuguese style and materials. No prior training is needed, and with the help of our expert tutors, anyone can do it The workshop will take place in our ceramic studio, where you will get the chance to see the creative process and the artworks of multiple contemporary ceramic artists. Come and join our creative crowd! Because we use the traditional technique - your tile will need to be fired in a special ceramic kiln after glazing. Finished tiles can be picked up after several days at our studio, or we can mail it to you for an additional fee. (Europe - 15 euros, USA 25 euros per parcel with tracking number).2 hours

This unique workshop will be led by our professional artist and will give you the chance to get hands-on and creative. We will use traditional and authentic materials - ceramic glazes and tiles.
During the 2 hour workshop the tutor will tell you about the history of Portuguese tiles Azulejos and differences between the styles and techniques. You may choose to follow a traditional design or have fun with your own unique drawing. No worries if you have no prior drawing or painting skills - you will be able to choose from 10 different traditional Portuguese tile design stencils that you can trace in a few seconds. All materials will be provided, including one tile per person and several vibrant colors to choose from.
Because we use the traditional technique - your tile will need to be fired in a special ceramic kiln after glazing. Finished tiles can be picked up after five business days at our studio in Rua da Boavista, or we can mail it to you for an additional fee. (Europe - 15 euros, USA 25 euros per parcel with tracking number).
