Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
Bunratty Co Clare, Bunratty, IrelandFrom Adare, we will be heading to Bunratty Castle ( 60 minutes drive ) a large 15th-century tower house in County Clare, Ireland³. It is one of the most complete and authentic medieval castles in Ireland.
Visit the castle, which has four towers, a great hall, a dungeon, and a chapel. You can explore the different rooms and admire the 15th and 16th century furnishings, tapestries, and artworks that capture the mood of the medieval times⁴.
See the Bunratty Collection, which is the finest collection of medieval furniture in the country. It includes the famous Bunratty Throne and the Golden Vale Mace, which are symbols of the power and wealth of the Earls of Thomond².
Walk at the Bunratty Folk Park, which is a 26-acre park that recreates a 19th century Irish village and rural setting. You can see various buildings, such as farmhouses, cottages, shops, a school, a church, and a pub. You can also interact with the costumed characters who demonstrate traditional crafts and skills¹.
