Amongst and beyond the lovely tourist shops in Centro, Merida has an extensive and eclectic mix of spectacular shops that most tourists (and often locals) will never see. Some of Merida’s best shops are on streets with less traffic, in overlooked neighborhoods, on the second floor of a building or behind unassuming doors.
The Ultimate “Shopping” Experience is curated tour that introduces you to 7-8 of Merida’s most unique shops ranging from very sophisticated boutiques to purposeful cooperatives to lovely family-owned cottage industry shops. With a theme of unique and quality merchandise, stores range to accommodate a variety of budgets for both men and women. Items may include textiles, various art, pottery, natural health and wellness products, shoes, curiosities, hammocks, leather, gifts, perfume, jewelry, décor, blown glass, local and national one-of-a-kind artisanal items, cloths, antique and vintage merchandise and other treasures.
