About Museum Art of the West Coast
The Museum Art of the West Coast is a beautiful art museum that mainly focuses on painting from 1830 until 1930 in the four North Sea countries of Norway, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands, to which the self-chosen general subject of “sea and seaside” is central. LangeneßLangeneß is a Hallig in the area of the North Frisian Islands off the Schleswig-Holstein North Sea coast between the large priels Norderaue and Süderaue. Langeneß itself has 16 Warften and is the largest Hallig. It has about 100 inhabitants and 58 households. There is also a daily ferry service to this beautiful place.
Leuchtturm AmrumThe Amrum lighthouse is in the south of the German North Sea island of Amrum, about two kilometers west of Wittdün. It belongs to the municipality of Nebel and is one of the landmarks of the island. It is open to the public in the summer months. Also on Amrum are the beacons of Norddorf and Nebel and the disused fire carriers of Wittdün. The Wriakhörn beacon was dismantled in 2016.
KniepsandThe Kniepsand, formerly Knipsand is an extremely slow-moving sandbank in the North Sea. It lies west of the Schleswig-Holstein island of Amrum and covers an area of around 10 km². The Föhr-Amrum office specifies the area of Amrum with and without Kniepsand. Since the area is not usually flooded, it is high sand.
Hornum OddeThe Hörnum-Odde is a dune and heathland on the southern tip of the North Frisian island of Sylt in the municipality of Hörnum. To the east is the priel Hörnumtief , southwest the prielsenke Hörnumloch and the sand Theeknobs. The two-kilometer Odde stands since 1972 under nature protection and is due to their exposed position especially tidal currents and storm surges threatened. The Hörnum-Odde is of great tourist importance.
Sylt AquariumThe Sylt Aquarium in the south of the city of Westerland on Sylt is a zoological garden that specializes in fish from the North Sea and tropical fish from coral reefs. The aquarium, inaugurated in 2004, is located directly on the dune belt and draws its freshwater through a direct pipeline from the North Sea. It has 25 saltwater pools with around 2000 fish. It has a glass tunnel that visitors can walk through under a pool.
SüdfallSüdfall is an island in the Wadden Sea on the North Sea coast in the west of Schleswig-Holstein. It has a size of 0.56 km² and administratively belongs to the municipality and district Pellworm. The Hallig is leased out and is inhabited by two people from March to November. One of the beautiful locations in this area which is blessed with natural beauty.
