About Castello Brown
The castle Brown , formerly the castle of St. George , is a defensive and noble house building situated uphill to the castle in Portofino , the Tigullio. During excavations in the area where now stands the military fortress were discovered traces of an ancient tower of sighting the Roman era that historians have established between II and III century, its dating. Parco Regionale di PortofinoThe regional natural park of Portofino is a protected natural area located in the Riviera di Levante, about thirty kilometers east of Genoa, in the geographical area of the eastern gulf of Paradise and western Tigullio. The body is mainly made up of the municipalities of Camogli, Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure, the latter seat of the park and the Portofino marine protected natural area. The park was established by law 1251 of June 20, 1935.
La Cervara - San Girolamo Abbey at Monte di PortofinoThe Cervara abbey, or abbey of San Girolamo al Monte di Portofino, is a former monastic complex, a place of Catholic worship, located along the provincial road 227 which leads from Santa Margherita Ligure to the village of Portofino. La Cervara is part of the network of the Great Italian Gardens, the Association of Historic Houses and the Ligurian Gardens.
Christ of the AbyssThe Christ of the Abyss is a bronze statue placed in 1954 on the bottom of the bay of San Fruttuoso, between Camogli and Portofino within the Portofino Marine Protected Natural Area, at a depth of 17 meters. The dive to observe the statue is one of the most famous excursions of the Ligurian coast, and the Christ has become over the years the symbol of the passion for diving and the sea.
Abbazia di San FruttuosoThe Abbey of San Fruttuoso is located on the Italian Riviera between Camogli and Portofino. It is the seat of the Catholic parish with the same name of the Vicariate of Recco-Uscio-Camogli, Archdiocese of Genoa. The abbey is located in a small bay under a steep wooded hill. It can only be reached by sea or by footpaths, there is no road access.
Castello di Punta PaganaThe castle of Punta Pagana is located in the extreme point of the same name inside the private park of Villa Spinola, the latter residence of the Grand Master of the Order of Malta since 1959. It is located on the border between the municipalities of Camogli and Santa Margherita Ligure. The flora of the mountain is typical of the Mediterranean, between the species present there is the bracken.
