Top WithinsTop Withens is a ruined farmhouse near Haworth, West Yorkshire which is said to have been the inspiration for Wuthering Heights the novel by Emily Brontë. The ruin lies on the Pennine Way and is a popular walking destination from nearby Haworth and Stanbury. The Golf Club was formed in 1931 as a municipal club under the auspices of Bingley Urban District Council. Initially the course was of a 9-hole layout which was expanded to 18 holes in 1934. Salts Mill Salts Mill is a place for art, dining, and shopping in one stunning historic building. Parking and entrance are free. The mill has many paintings by the local artist David Hockney on display and also provides offices for Pace plc. The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is a heritage railway that was reopened in 1968 and runs from Keighley to Oxenhope through beautiful Brontë country. Board our steam train and enjoy the sound of the engine climbing the steep sides of the valley, while great clouds of steam and smoke add drama to the scene.
