About Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery

It is the largest cemetery of megalithic tombs in Ireland. It lies just south-west of Sligo town, right at the heart of the Cúil Írra Peninsula, an area alive with prehistoric significance. These are found at Carrowmore, a collection of burial monuments at the centre of the Cuil Iorra peninsula three kilometers west of Sligo town.

KnocknareaKnocknarea is a large hill west of Sligo town in County Sligo, Ireland. A good trekking destination with 327-metre high limestone hill is visually striking, as it is monolithic in appearance and stands in a prominent position on the Cúil Irra peninsula between the bays of Sligo and Ballysadare. There are also remains of several smaller tombs on the summit.
