About Ankogel Group

The Ankogel Group lies in the eastern part of the Hohe Tauern. It covers the northern area of Carinthia and the southern area of Salzburgerland. The Ankogelgroup is often divided in the 'Ankogelgroup' and Reisseckgroup'. The Reisseckgroup is a more rough massif, the Ankogelgroup contains a lot of glaciers.

HochalmspitzeThe Hochalmspitze is at an altitude of 3360 m above sea level. A. the highest point in the Ankogel group in the Hohe Tauern . As a counterpart to the Glockner , it is also known as the "Tauern Queen" or "Tauern Princess". It is popularly called Der Hochalmer . It is located east of Mallnitz in Carinthia. The normal route leads from the Gießener Hütte over the southeast ridge. This path was first walked in 1892 by Frido Kordon and his companions.

SäuleckSäuleck is a mountain range in the south of the Ankogel group , in the Austrian state of Carinthia . It is located southwest of the Hochalmspitze . At the summit of the column corner, which has always been visited, a more than seven meter high pyramid was built in 1823, with the help of which the military trigonometric measurement was carried out by First Lieutenant von Catharin in 1825 . Paul Grohmann was one of the first known tourists at the Säuleck summit in 1860.

AnkogelA majestic mountain in the Ankogel Group in the eastern High Tauern range in Austria. It is the second highest mountain in the group, the Hochalmspitze being higher at 3,360 m. A cable car from Mallnitz goes up to 2,631 m on the mountain, making Ankogel one of the most accessible alpine peaks. It is also a good trekking destination and also it offers beautiful views too.

Kölnbrein-StaumauerAn arch dam in the Hohe Tauern range within Carinthia, Austria. It was constructed between 1971 and 1979 and at 200 metres (660 ft) high, it is the tallest dam in Austria. The complex is owned by Verbund power company and is referred to as the Malta-Reisseck Power Plant Group. It was one of the architectural marvel in this area and also there are so many things to see here.

AnkogelbahnThe Ankogelbahn is a cable car from Mallnitz to the Ankogel. It is a group shuttle-lift , with two cabins in the first section and three cabins in the second section, one behind the other, i.e. firmly clamped to the pulling rope. In contrast to a conventional gondola lift , however, these groups of cabins move back and forth between the stations on their suspension cable.

RaggaschluchtThe Raggaschlucht is a gorge in the Austrian Mölltal near the village of Flattach in Carinthia. At around 800 meters in length, it is one of the shorter gorges in Austria, but one of the most impressive due to its particular narrowness and depth of up to 200 m. It is open to visitors throughout with walkways, stairs and bridges. At the beginning of the gorge a pegmatite forms-Intrusion a 10 m high step over which the Raggabach falls in an impressive waterfall into the gorge.
