About Landbouw-Juttersmuseum Swartwoude
The Swartwoude Agricultural and Beachcombing Museum , also known as Museum Swartwoude , is a cultural-historical museum dedicated to the existence of the Ameland farming population around the end of the 19th century and early 20th century. In the museum you can find a collection about navigation , radio communication and rescue operations. There is also a replica of a ship 's bridge and it is the base of the horse rescue boat . About fourteen times a year a demonstration is given from the center in which ten horses pull the lifeboat towards the beach southwest of Hollum. Artist Barbera Hofker-Esser made a tile tableauof the horse rescue boat.
