Mohan Shakti Heritage Park is North India's first ever ancient heritage park. National Heritage Park is located at Shakti Sthal on NH 22 between Kalka and Shimla. The picturesque park is supplemented with many unique structures. The park is still under construction and is believed to be the largest heritage park in Himachal Pradesh. Jatoli TempleJatoli gets its name from the long Jata (hair) that Lord Shiva has. Considered as Asia's highest Shiv temple, this shrine is indeed an architectural marvel. Jatoli Shiv Temple is one of the famous holy destinations of Solan which attract a large number of pilgrims and is only 6 Kms from the city.
ChailChail is one of the popular hill stations situated in the vicinity of Solan. Chail was the summer capital of Maharaja Adhiraj Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. The most important attraction of Chail is the Chail Sanctuary which covers an area of about 110 km, around the township. It was declared a sanctuary in 1976. This sanctuary is noted for its Chir Pheasant Breeding and Rehabilitation centre which was introduced to increase the number of Chir birds in the area.

Christ Church KasauliIts picturesque structure and scenic beauty attract nature lovers from all across India. Dedicated to St. Francis and St. Barnabas, the present structure of the church was designed in the emblematic Gothic style architecture. Divine services of the church were started on 24 July, 1853, by Chaplain Thomas John Edward Steel, M.A., St. John's College, Cambridge. However, the church was revered as a holy place by Authority of the Bishop of Calcutta in 1857.
Indian Institute of Advanced StudiesIIAS structure was built as home for Lord Duffein, who was the Viceroy of India during 1884 and 1888. The place has witnessed major historic decisions including Shimla Conference (1945) and the Separation of Pakistan and East Pakistan (1947). After independence, the building was renamed as ‘Rashtrapati Nivas’. It was used as a summer retreat by the President of India. Later, it was converted into a research centre for Indian culture, religion, humanities and social and natural sciences.
Viceregal Lodge & Botanical GardensThe Viceregal Lodge, Shimla is the most historically significant and architectural impressive building of the region that makes for a pleasant half-day excursion. The Viceregal Lodge was the summer residence of the Indian Viceroy, the British Raj leader who governed the whole of the Indian subcontinent between 1888 until 1946. Within the Viceroy Lodge many significant decisions from this era about India were devised, discussed and agreed upon.
