About Griffith Park

A large municipal park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. It covers around 4,310 acres of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America. This park features a number of popular attractions such as the Los Angeles Zoo, the Autry Museum of the American West, the Griffith Observatory, and the Hollywood Sign. Due to its presence in many films, the park is among the most famous municipal parks in North America.

Hollyhock HouseHollyhock House was designed by America’s most important 20th-century architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. The house was commissioned by oil heiress and theatre producer Aline Barnsdall. It was built between 1919 and 1921. Aline Barnsdall was also a philanthropist and in 1927 gave the house and the surrounding twelve acres atop Olive Hill (now Barnsdall Park) to the City of Los Angeles as a memorial to her father Theodore.
