About Shabari Dham

Located on a hill called ‘Chamak Dungar’ off 4 km from village Subir on Ahwa-Navapur road, this temple of Shabarimata is a place where Lord Rama met Shabari, a Bhil woman. Legend goes that Shabari offered tasted berries to Lord Rama at this place. Three stones on which Lord Rama, his brother Laxman and Shabari are said to have sat are still worshipped.

Waghai Botanical Gardenthe garden and Bio-Diversity Conservation center have a wide range of native and exotic plant samples from which you can learn to identify plants, learn how they are used for food and medicine, and how much we depend on them. There is a nature education trail which leads you to and from Vansda Park. You might not find people to welcome and orient you, but there is plenty of written information about the plants posted around the center. The garden is open from 8am-6pm and entry is free.

Saputara Hill StationSaputara Hill Station is a small hill station located in Sahyadris. Saputara is the only hill station in Gujarat located in Dang district. Saputara is situated at an altitude of 1000 meters in the forests of Sahyadri ranges on the outskirts of Maharashtra. Ukai Damconstructed across the Tapi River, is the second-largest reservoir in Gujarat after the Sardar Sarovar. It is also known as Vallabh Sagar. Constructed in 1972, the dam is meant for irrigation, power generation, and flood control. Having a catchment area of about 62,255 km2 and a water spread of about 52,000 hectares, its capacity is almost the same as that of the Bhakra Nangal Dam.
