About Mt. Madonna County Park

This is one of the most majestic of Santa Clara County's regional park and recreation areas. This 3,688 acre park is dominated by the redwood forest so characteristic of the Santa Cruz Mountain range. The park offers hiking and equestrian activities along its 14-mile trail system, as well as an archery range and an amphitheater. Facilities for picnicking and overnight camping are also provided.

Coyote LakeA majestic artificial lake in Santa Clara County, impounded by Coyote Dam, a 140-foot high, 980-foot long, earth and rock dam built in 1936. It holds 23,244 acre feet of water when full. It is the second largest reservoir owned by the Santa Clara Valley Water District. Power boating, jetskiing, waterskiing, sailing, canoeing/kayaking and fishing are all allowed in the reservoir. It has two docks, a 3-lane concrete ramp, paved parking and a restroom.

Anderson Lake County ParkThis is an artificial lake in Morgan Hill, located in southern Santa Clara County The 4,275 acre Anderson Park also features the Coyote Creek Parkway multiple use trails, the Jackson Ranch historic park site, the Moses L. Rosendin Park, and the Burnett Park area. It provides limited fishing, picnicking, and hiking activities. Although swimming is prohibited, boating, water-skiing and jet-skiing are permitted in the reservoir.

New Almaden Quicksilver Mining MuseumNew Almaden, is a historic community and former mercury mine in the Capitancillos Hills of San Jose, California. It presents visitors with an interesting array of exhibits about the history of mercury mining and the lifestyles of mining communities. A mine diorama duplicates the interior of a mine shaft, giving visitors a feel for working underground. Other exhibits explain the changing technology of how the liquid mercury was extracted from mined cinnabar ore.
