Bear Creek Lake ParkBear Creek Lake Park is a 2600 acre Open Space Park managed by the City of Lakewood. The park contains a swim beach; marina with boat rentals; a 47 site campground; horseback riding stables; 15 miles of multiple use trails; water ski school; picnic shelters; an archery range and three lakes.The park Visitor Center is a great place to learn about the park, and a variety of ranger programs are offered throughout the year.
Harriman Lake ParkThis is a beautiful lake park with so many amenities in this beautiful area. This park features Harriman Lake and the upland prairie habitat surrounding the lake. A 1.43 mile loop trail surrounds the lake and features interpretive stops that describe historical and natural features of the area. Improvements at the park have been intentionally limited to preserve the natural integrity of the park.
Bandimere SpeedwayBandimere Speedway sits at the foothills of the Rockies on the West side of the Metro Denver area. The track was established in 1958 by John Bandimere, Sr. as a way to augment his performance parts businesses in Denver, as well as have an opportunity to instruct youth on the automobile. The track has several quirks that make it unique within the NHRA's schedule of events. The track is also the only NHRA sanctioned track with a downhill staging area, and uphill shut down strip.
Morrison Natural History MuseumThe Morrison Natural History Museum is a natural history museum located in Morrison, Colorado. The exhibits include several dinosaur fossils that were found nearby. Hands-on exhibits are designed to appeal to both children and adults, scientists and non-scientists.Notable displays include skulls of Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, and Tylosaurus, remains of skeletons of Stegosaurus and Pteranodon, and infant dinosaur tracks. Red Rocks Park Red Rocks Park is a mountain park in Jefferson County, Colorado, owned and maintained by the city of Denver as part of the Denver Mountain Parks system. The park is known for its very large red sandstone outcrops. Dinosaur Ridge Dinosaur Ridge is an outdoor/indoor museum near Morrison featuring fossils from the Cretaceous and Jurassic Periods, first studied and named during the Bone Wars of 1877. The exhibits are located along a closed section of West Alameda Ave. The route climbs about 200 feet from the museum/shop to the high point along the ridge backbone. The walk is about 2 miles round-trip taking 2-hours. A shuttle bus tour is available for an additional cost.

Fishing is available at the 60 surface acre Johnston Reservoir with a valid fishing license. It is also home to many organized special events including the Summerset Festival each September.

Bear Creek Bear Creek is a tributary of the South Platte River in central Colorado in the United States. It begins as a small creek up in the Mount Blue Sky Wilderness in Summit Lake and makes it’s way through Evergreen, CO, Kittredge, CO, Idledale, CO and Morrison, CO before entering into Bear Ponds. The stream flows to a confluence with the South Platte River in Sheridan, Colorado, just south of Denver, and then into the South Platte River near Englewood.
