To reach Howelsen Hill Ski Area in Routt county, Colorado, take US 40 west from Routt county. Take a left on to South Lincoln Avenue and continue for about .8 miles. Take a right on to Howelsen Parkway and the ski area will be on your left. There is a large parking lot at the base of the ski area. 

While there is no entrance fee, there are costs associated with renting equipment and purchasing lift tickets. However, these costs are well worth it for the opportunity to explore this stunning area.

Howelsen Hill Ski Area is open seven days a week from 9 AM to 4 PM. During the week, the ski area is open for night skiing from 5 PM to 9 PM. On Saturdays, the ski area is open for night skiing from 5 PM to 10 PM. On Sundays, the ski area is open for night skiing from 5 PM to 9 PM.
