About Kakanmath Temple
Kakanmaṭh is a ruined 11th century Shiva temple located at Sihoniya in Madhya Pradesh, India. It was built by the Kachchhapaghata ruler Kirttiraja. Only a part of the original temple complex now survives. Some of the sculptures from the site are now located at Gwalior.Address : Bavdipura, Sihoniya, Bawadipura, Madhya Pradesh 476134, India

It had, then, been rechristened after Sher Shah Sur who restored the fort in 1540 AD to protect the Afghan kingdom from the onslaughts the Mewar in mid 16th century on the western frontier.
