The weather was chilling around the bridge so it's advisable to have warm clothes. The bridge has daily access on the EAST Sidewalk (side facing San Francisco). The hours vary seasonally and below are the rough timings: Pacific Standard Time: East Sidewalk hours are 5 am to 6:30 pm. Automatically-controlled gates close at 6:30 pm and reopen at 5 am. Daylight Savings Time: East Sidewalk hours are 5 am to 9 pm. Automatically-controlled gates close at 9 pm and reopen at 5 am. Cycling enthusiasts should plan the trip to the bridge accordingly as there are access restrictions and seasonal updates can also be found here : http://goldengatebridge.org/bikesbridge/bikes.php
