About Mount Hamiguitan

The Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary has an elevation range of 75–1,637 m above sea level and provides critical habitat for a range of plant and animal species. The property showcases terrestrial and aquatic habitats at different elevations and includes threatened and endemic flora and fauna species, eight of which are found only at Mount Hamiguitan. These include critically endangered trees, plants, and the iconic Philippine eagle and Philippine cockatoo.

Monfort Bat SanctuaryThe Monfort Bat Sanctuary is home to 1.8 million Geoffroy’s Rosette fruit bats – the largest known colony of the species in the world. El Salvador del Mundo ParishThe San Salvador del Mundo Church is the parish church of Caraga, Davao Oriental. When the Jesuits took charge of the spiritual administration of the town in 1871 from the Augustinian Recollects, a stone and wooden church was built in 1877 to serve as mission station of Spanish Missionaries in propagating Christianity in the eastern side of Mindanao. When it was completed in 1884, the church was dedicated to San Salvador del Mundo .
