Bastakia is a place that looks like the old Dubai Freej in it's architectural style. You can find lots of narrow alleys, cafes, shops and galelleries and can get a feeling for how the city used to look like before oil. Once a year you can also find the Sikka art fair in this location where local artist are presented.

XVA gallery is one of the oldest galleries in Bastakia and always exhibits contemporary art. Attached to the gallery is a small hotel and a coffee shop with delicious juices and fresh food. The doorways are low so watch your head.
