The Laucherenstock lies on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Nidwalden, it is located in the Unterwaldner Voralpen . In the south, the Laucherenstock falls into the Horbistal , whose steep rocky step is also known as the "End of the World". The Horbistal flows south into Engelberg .
