Besançon’s Museum of Fine Arts and Archeology was originally founded in 1694. The assembled objects and works of art came from some of the prestigious collections belonging to Nicolas Perrenot of the Granvelle family and his son Antoine. The collections are divided into three categories: archaeology, painting, and drawing cabinet.
