Château du Haut-BarrThe Haut-Barr Castle is a medieval castle in ruins located in the French town of Saverne, in the department of Bas-Rhin. Parc animalier de Sainte-CroixThe Sainte-Croix Animal Park is a French zoological park located in the heart of the Lorraine Regional Natural Park, in Rhodes. Mainly specialized in European fauna, it is designed as a park of vision. Created in 1980 by Gérald Singer, it is now his sons, Laurent and Pierre, who manage the park. It covers an area of 120 hectares with more than 1,500 animals of 130 species and it made this zoo one of the five largest zoos in France.
Castle of FleckensteinA ruined castle in the commune of Lembach. This fortress, built in the shape of a 52 m long boat, has a long history. The castle was built on a sandstone summit in the Middle Ages. An ingenious system for collecting rainwater fed a cistern and a hoist allowed water and other loads to be moved to the upper floors. It was built in the first half or mid-12th century by the Fleckenstein family, who were ministerials of the Hohenstaufen dynasty. Now it is one of the main attractions in this area.
Mont DononThe highest peak in the northern Vosges where many archaeological remains have been found. An engraved block of sandstone near the summit commemorates the conception of Victor Hugo. The views from the top of this mountain are truly impressive and this place has witnessed many fights in the 1st world war. The archaeological remain found here are being displayed in the Musée archéologique de Strasbourg.
Heilig-Kreuz-KapelleThe Holy Cross Chapel, also known as the Gnadenkapelle is a pilgrimage place that belongs to the Blieskastel Monastery and built in 1929. Around 80,000 pilgrims visit the Chapel annually. The chapel was built as a place of veneration for a relic of the True Cross.
Strasbourg Museum of Modern and Contemporary ArtA beautiful art museum which was located in Strasbourg, France founded in the year 1973. It houses extensive collections of paintings, sculpture, graphic arts, multimedia, and design from the period between 1870 and today. On the 1st floor of the museum, the restaurant-cafe terrace offers a magnificent view of the river Ill and Petite France. One of the good location which oaves light to history and architecture.
