Part of the South Chotanapur Commissionary, Khunti is a very new district, established on 12th September 2007. Birsa Munda StatueBirsa Munda was an Indian tribal freedom fighter, religious leader, and folk hero who belonged to the Munda tribe. He spearheaded a tribal religious Millenarian movement that arose in the Bengal Presidency. This statue is placed in memory of this freedom fighter.
