About Buxar

Buxar district is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar with headquarters at Buxar City. The district was carved out from Bhojpur District in 17 March 1991. It shares a border with Uttar Pradesh and is located on the banks of the Ganges River. This place was also known as "Siddhashram", "Vedgarbhapuri", "Karush", "Tapovan", "Chaitrath", "VyaghraSar", "Buxar" in ancient history.

BIHARI JI KA MANDIR
Hindu Temples
Bihariji Temple, one of the most revered places in the region, is positioned at a distance of 15 km from the township. Located nearby a hamlet known as Dumraon, the temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is also known as Bihari. The temple was constructed in 1825 by the erstwhile King of Dumraon estate, Jaiprakash Singh. Owing to religious significance, the location is thronged by devotees in large numbers.
