BAGUIO TEACHERS' CAMP MUSEUM

Teachers’ Camp was founded in 1908 as a vacation home for teachers visiting from outside of the city. This ingenious plan, as laid out by Governor William Pack, was formally opened on April 6, 1908. In 1936, the Teachers’ Camp also became the residence of Philippine Military Academy cadets until their number strengthened and a transfer to their current site in Fort Del Pilar became necessary a year after. Baguio Teachers’ Camp has also witnessed situations, a blend of joy and misfortune.

Bell Church

The Bell Church is a magnificent Taoist Church that sits between Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet. Part of the reason why the Bell Church might be missed is because it has typically not been offered as a part of the local tours offered by travel agencies because it sits just a bit outside of the normal routes of things to see when you are visiting Baguio City. It is a site you don’t want to miss, but you have to go a little out of your way to see it.

Camp John Hay has been a huge part of the history of Baguio City, serving as a military post and a place of refuge for troops in the 1900’s. Kennon Road Viewpoint

this modest spot will give you one of the best panoramic sights in Baguio City. The view deck has two sections for you to explore, you can head on the first floor that has a store and a garden full of lush greens. Then you can go to the second floor which gives you an elevated view. The garden gives you a wider view of the open area, while the second floor offers elevation. It is one of the best places to explore the natural beauty of the city.

Once owned by one of the richest clans in Baguio, Laperal Mansion is a commanding sight along Leonard road beside the infamous Teacher's Camp. The three-story mansion is decorated with old yet intricately-varnished interiors. Used as a garrison by the Japanese, the Laperals' loving home was quickly turned into a gruesome site, which explains numerous stories about ghost sightings. Despite its brooding aura, the Mansion has a garage that serves as a showroom for bamboo art.

Lion’s Head
Sculptures
Located a few kilometers from the Kennon Road view deck, the 40-foot high lion head was carved from a limestone boulder by a Cordillera artist. Located in Camp 6, it was conceptualized by the Lions Club members of Baguio City, during the term of Luis Lardizabal, Mayor of Baguio City between 1969 to 1970, to become the club's monument in the area.

A ridge located at the extreme northeast side of the city, past The Mansion and Wright Park, Mines View Park boasts of a spectacular view of Benguet's gold and copper mines and the Cordillera mountains. The main attractions in Mines View Park nowadays would be the commercial activities such as the souvenir and silverworks stores by the park. The one especially worth visiting is Rimando's, that offers the best carved artifacts, on the Gibraltar side.

The Mansion
