About North Western Province

It is the fifth largest province in Sri Lanka, with area of 7,888 km² and a population of 2,370,075. It consists of two districts of Puttalam, and the larger district of Kurunegala with 4,771 km² that covers around 60% of the province, acting as the capital with a population of 28,571. Fishing, prawn farming and rubber tree farms are other prominent industries in the region, and it has several archaeological sites.

Kalpitiya Dutch Church
Churches
It is also known as St Peter's Kerk, located between the Dutch fort and the village of Kalpitiya. The church was built in 1706 by the Dutch and is a smaller version of the church in Matara fort. It is one of the earliest protestant churches in the country.

Sri Munneswaram Devasthanam
Hindu Temples
This temple is a famous regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been in existence at least since 1000 CE. The complex has a collection of five temples, including a Buddhist temple.
