The Botanical Garden is a teaching and research facility of the University of Innsbruck . The garden, which is situated in Hötting and connected to the Department of Botany , is open to visitors since 1906 and contains more than 5000 species. The Alpine Garden Mt. Patscherkofel is an important outstation for research in the Alpine region and also open for visitors.

Innsbrucker Hofgarten
The Innsbrucker Hofgarten is a listed park in Innsbruck on the edge of the old town, adjacent to the Hofburg , the Congress House and the Tyrolean State Theater . The Hofgarten is a recreational area in the middle of the city center with an interesting and diverse tree population, a pond, a modern children's playground, a palm house and a popular garden restaurant. In the palm house there is a collection of around 1700 species of plants, which can be viewed on weekdays.
