Bundi takes its name from the Bando Naal or the narrow passage, between the rugged hills. It has great significance in the Pre-historic era such as the stone age.
Chittorgarh district is famous for its vast forest region and attracts a lot of tourists every year who visit these forests for rejuvenation and adventure. While going back to history, Chittorgarh, famous for its Rajput chivalry and pride, was home to ChhatariRajputs. It is believed that Chittorgarh was gifted to Bappa Rawal as a part of the dowry when he married the Solanki princess in the 8th century.
Dausa is named after a hill near the city that was called Devgiri. On the top of the hill is situated a fort, built by Badgujar kings, who were the original rulers of this area. Later, Dausa was given by Chauhans to Kachwan.
District Dholpur is situated in the eastern part of Rajasthan. it is bordered by Bharatpur district of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to the north, Madhya Pradesh to the south, Karauli district to the west and Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to the east.
The district contains the archaeological site of Kalibangan ( Indus valley civilization) and Pallu. It also is known as Punjab of Rajasthan because of the majority Punjabi people in the district.
