Definitely worth going to. The cave is impressive, and the innermost temple area with the "hole" on the ceiling is really a lovely sight. There are even monkeys on that area and they climb up and down the hole. Remember, don't smile at them.
Before the caves, there's also a lot to enjoy. Lots of food stalls outside that carry local delicacies for a decent price. Yum.
Then there's the feeding area for the pigeons which is also fun but you have to be careful as it's covered with bird poop. Yuk.
Then there's the gigantic statue of the Hindu god of war (forgot the name). And the stairs just next to it.
Climbing up the stairs isn't really as exhausting as I thought, as long as you take a breather every now and then, and there are areas in the stairs to do that. The stairs is a nice place for a photo op, and the view while climbing is also nice.
I’ve been to Batu Caves many times, this place is located on the way on each of our malaysian road trips. A beautiful statue of Murugan can be seen here. It will be damn crowded during Thaipusam - a local festival.Albin VargheseVisisted on 28 Jan 2018
