One could just simply take a shared boat ride or pick a houseboat which are available in varied sizes and packages.
I was on a family trip and we chose to have a houseboat to ourselves given we were about 8-12 in number. The boat comes with a skipper, helper and an experienced chef who would spoil you with delicious food during your trip. You can choose the timing for your trip and even stay over night in the backwaters.
