About Place du Capitole
The Capitol Square is a square in the historic center of Toulouse in France. It is located in the heart of the Capitole district, in sector 1 of the city. Flanked by grand municipal buildings, the square includes the long neo-classical facade of Capitole, the city hall, built in the 1750s. The name "Capitole" referred not only to the Roman Capitol but also to the capitulum, which was the chapter of the governing magistrates.
