About Schaalsee
The 24 km² large Schaalsee is a lake on the border between Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Germany It is one of the deepest lakes in Germany and was in 2019 as a Living Lake of the Year Award. It was home to a good population of large predatory fish and also there are several islands and peninsulas in the Schaalsee, of which the Kampenwerder peninsula is the largest.Address : Schaalsee, Germany

Elbe-Lübeck CanalElbe-Lübeck Canal is a German waterway connecting the Elbe River at Lauenberg with the Baltic Sea at Lübeck. The waterway, 64 km (40 miles) long, was built in 1895–1900 to replace the medieval Stecknitz Canal. The modern canal was built in the 1890s to replace the Stecknitz Canal, a medieval watercourse linking the same two rivers.

For centuries the castle was the home of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg and later Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Today parts of it serve as the residence of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state parliament, other parts are open for tourists.
