Lake Zürich is formed by the Linth river, which rises in the glaciers of the Glarus Alps and was diverted by the Escher canal into Lake Walen from where its waters are carried to the east end of Lake Zürich by means of the Linth canal. SihlThe Sihl is a Swiss river that rises near the Druesberg mountain in the canton of Schwyz and eventually flows into the Limmat in the center of the city of Zürich. It has a length of 73 km, including the Sihlsee reservoir, through which the river flows. Water is abstracted from the river at the Sihlsee, leading to decreased downstream water flows and a consequent reduction in water quality.

There is no way you will miss the lake when you visit Zurich. The city situates around the lake and it is one of the primary hanging spot of locals(at least when we visited in the summer). There were people sun bathing, swimming, boating, bbq ing in an around the lake.
We did some boating enjoying the view of the city in another perspective and then walked around it, and rested on its shores putting our legs in the cool waters. The water is clear in most places with a turquoise color. And there are many restuarants around where you can have a meal. In one of the corners, people were jumping off from a ten meter tower to the lake below. Looked like all the locals were having a great time there.
