This is the entry point if you want to visit Idukki dam. You can only visit Idukki dam by going to the Cheruthoni dam and then visit both Cheruthoni and Idukki dams. Visitors can walk from Cheruthoni dam to the arch dam of idukki, and then also visit the Vysali caves in between these two dams. We even climbed on top of "Kuravan Mala", one of the mountains that connects Idukki arch dam.  The dam is very large, visitors are not allowed to bring any electronic items inside. There is a cloak room available where you can keep your stuffs. The whole stretch combining Cheruthoni dam, Vysali caves and Idukki dam covers around 6 kilometres back and forth, golf cart like buggies are available if you are not interested to walk.
