The Bohemian Forest , in Czech Šumava , is a mountain range about 120 km long and up to 50 km wide, which stretches along the Czech - German - Austrian border. After the Giant Mountains and Jeseníky Mountains, it is the third highest rump mountain range in the Bohemian Massif . The highest mountain in the Bohemian Forest is the Great Arber at 1,456 m . PlöckensteinThe Plöckenstein is a mountain, 1,379 m high, in the Bohemian Forest on the Austro-Czech border. Its summit is the highest point in the Bohemian Forest in both countries, and also the highest point in the regions of Mühlviertel and South Bohemia. It is well known as a result of stories by Adalbert Stifter. A good trekking destination and also there are options for adventure sports too.
HochfichtThe Hochficht is a mountain in the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria with a height of 1,338 m above sea level. Its summit marks the border between Austria and the Czech Republic. At the top is a rock outcrop with a summit cross, a ski lift station and a weather station. The Czech side of the mountain is in the core zone of the Bohemian Forest National Park. The Hochficht in the cross-border Bohemian Forest is part of the municipality of Klaffer.
Lusen Mountain4,450 feet (1,360 m) high mountain peak in the Czech Republic–Germany border. The peak is popular for hiking in both summer and winter, with a separate winter trail which is usually cleared of snow.
SternsteinThe Sternstein Mountain is situated in the north of Upper Austria, Austria in the districts of Bad Leonfelden and Vorderweißenbach. On its north flank it also reaches into the Czech Republic. As measured by the height above sea level of its summit it is 1125 meters high. There are four kilometers of slopes on the east flank of the mountain and the Sternstein GmbH operates a combined funicular and chair lift with a capacity of 2850 persons/hour to get to the top of the mountain.
Schlögener BlickThe Schlögener Schlinge is a river loop in the upper Danube valley in Upper Austria. The southern shore is located in the municipality of Haibach ob der Donau and its district Schlögen, which gives the loop the name. In the north, the municipalities of Hofkirchen im Mühlkreis border with the village Au and in the far east Niederkappel with the village Grafenau in the area of the Danube River.
