About Großwalsertal
A side valley of the Walgau and stretches from this in an easterly to north-easterly direction to the mountainous center of the country. The end of the valley borders on the Bregenz Forest . FaschinajochThe Faschinajoch is a mountain pass in the Alps at 1486 m above sea level . It connects the valley of the Bregenzer Ach near Damüls with the valley of the Lutz near Faschina. It leads over the pass, which is well-developed and winter-proof . The eastern part of the route is very popular with motorcyclists .
FaschinaFaschina - Fontanella is the highest mountain village within the valley, situated on a sun-kissed balcony of the Grosses Walsertal. The small but charming settlement close to the Faschinajoch ridge at 1485 m above sea level, offers superb winter and summer holidays in a family-like atmosphere. The village is particularly well-known for the Faschina ski area, which is part of the Damüls ski area.
