An old traditional home from 200 years ago. It is believed that here is where Adi Shankara, the Indian philosopher, and theologian recited the hymn Kanakadhāra Stotram which resulted in Goddess Lakshmi appearing in front of him and unleashing a stream of gold.

A 250 year old house showing the traditional Kerala architecture. This is s private property but you can visit it as long as you don't venture inside the building. Those of you who watched the Malayalam movie "Manichithrathazu" will surely get the vibe of this building, and yes, it gives a creep too just like in the movie. Apart from that, the house complex is pretty large. And it is believed that here is where Adi Shankara, the Indian philosopher and theologian recited the hymn Kanakadhāra Stotram which resulted in Goddess Lakshmi appearing in front of him and unleashing a stream of gold.
