Alviso Marina County Park
This 20.6 acre bayside park, located along Alviso slough and adjacent to the salt ponds and marshes of Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The park offers a great variety of recreational opportunities within its boundaries and leads visitors to the Refuge for bird watching, hiking along the pathways, boardwalks, and on regional trails including the San Francisco Bay Trail.It offer fantastic views of the mountains surrounding the bay, and of the wildlife.

Anderson Lake County Park
This is an artificial lake in Morgan Hill, located in southern Santa Clara County The 4,275 acre Anderson Park also features the Coyote Creek Parkway multiple use trails, the Jackson Ranch historic park site, the Moses L. Rosendin Park, and the Burnett Park area. It provides limited fishing, picnicking, and hiking activities. Although swimming is prohibited, boating, water-skiing and jet-skiing are permitted in the reservoir.

Baylands Nature Preserve
This is the largest tract of undisturbed marshland remaining in the San Francisco Bay. Fifteen miles of multi-use trails provide access to a unique mixture of tidal and fresh water habitats. The preserve encompasses 1,940 acres in both Palo Alto and East Palo Alto, and is owned by the city of Palo Alto. It is an important habitat for migratory shorebirds and is considered one of the best birdwatching spots on the West Coast.

Emma Prusch Farm Park
Emma Prusch Farm Park is a 43.5 acre park in the King & Story neighborhood in San Jose. It offers visitors opportunities for both recreation and learning about San Jose's agricultural past. The farm also has a rare fruit orchard, a deciduous fruit orchard and two community gardens, and a 6-acre urban farming project called Veggielution. In the spring, the park offers guided tours for K–3 school groups.

Foothills Nature Preserve
This is a 1,400-acre park and nature preserve in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. The park contains nearly one tenth of all land in Palo Alto. About 90 acres of the park are developed with amenities including a large grassy field, picnic sites, a walk-in, tent-only campground, and a nature interpretive center. Monte Bello Preserve
This is a 3,133-acre open space preserve, located near Palo Alto in the Santa Cruz Mountains, in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties, California, United States. The preserve encompasses the upper Stevens Creek watershed in the valley between Monte Bello Ridge and Skyline Ridge. New Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum
New Almaden, is a historic community and former mercury mine in the Capitancillos Hills of San Jose, California. It presents visitors with an interesting array of exhibits about the history of mercury mining and the lifestyles of mining communities. Pearson-Arastradero Preserve
This is a beautiful mixture of rolling grassland and evergreen forest. It protects most of the Arastradero Creek watershed, including its ephemeral Mayfly Creek tributary. It also includes the upper reach of the Felt Creek tributary to Stanford's Felt Reservoir. Each area of the preserve has something different to offer, whether it is a view of the bay, a quiet walk through the grasslands, or a snooze by the lake.
