Beginpunt N70 NatuurwandelrouteThe Nature Walk N70 is a walking route in the towns of Beek , Ubbergen and Berg en Dal near Nijmegen. The abbreviation N70 refers to the Nature Conservation Year 1970 established by the European Council , as a result of which this route was plotted. The traditional starting point is in the middle, at hotel 't Spijker. But you can also start at other points along the route.
BruukDe Bruuk is a nature reserve of approximately 100 ha between Breedeweg and De Horst in the municipality of Berg en Dal on the border with Germany .De Bruuk is a swamp area that is fed by seepage water from the surrounding hills. It partly consists of blue grassland and is therefore protected as a Natura 2000 area. The area is owned by Staatsbosbeheer and private individuals. De Leigraaf runs through the area.
De Millinger TheetuinThe Millinger tea garden is a Moorish style tea garden in the Dutch municipality of Berg en Dal. The garden is located in the middle of the 'De Millingerwaard ' nature reserve, which is managed by the World Wildlife Fund and Staatsbosbeheer. In the garden there is a Moorish tea house with veranda, a Moroccan tea house and a Moroccan square with water feature. There are several water basins. Banana plants , palms , figs and other Mediterranean plants are in pots in the garden.
Heerlijkheid BeekDe Heerlijkheid Beek is a nature reserve near Berg en Dal in the municipality of the same name , which is managed by the Het Geldersch Landschap foundation. It covers a hilly area of 49 hectares , which is part of the moraine around Nijmegen . The landscape consists of forests in the higher parts and meadows in the lower parts, also known as the Elysian Fields.
Heumense SchansThe Heumense schans is a former defense work and current nature reserve near Molenhoek in the Dutch province of Limburg and is located near the current Nijmegen-Venlo railway line within walking distance of Mook Molenhoek Station. The redoubt and the surrounding area is a nature reserve and is owned by Natuurmonumenten . The area connects to the Mookerheide and the Heumensoord forest area.
HeumensoordHeumensoord is an area of more than 600 hectares in Gelderland that mainly consists of coniferous forest. it is part of the chain of forests between Nijmegen and Mook that becomes richer and more varied towards the east, but towards the west increasingly drier, poorer and also poorer in species. Military exercises are sometimes held in the surrounding forest, sometimes closing parts of the area to the public. In the south of the area is the Malden Glider Airfield.

Here you will find the nature fields of Stichting Doornik Natuurakkers and the Open Air Classroom. Nature is being developed on the nature fields of Stichitng Doornik Natuurakkers. Rare flowers and plants grow here and there is room for special birds and animals.
MillingerwaardThe Millingerwaard is a nature reserve in the municipality of Berg en Dal in Gelderland and is part of the Gelderse Poort , which has been designated a Natura 2000 area. It includes swamp , meadows , riparian forest and surface water consisting of oxbows and pools. There are some farms and houses in the area where about 20 people live. The Millinger Tea Garden is also located in the Millingerwaard.
Playground The LeemkuilDe Leemkuil is a playground in the Mariënbosch in the Kwakkenberg district in Nijmegen. The site covers 3.5 hectares of forest area and De Leemkuil has about a hundred aircraft. The main attractions of De Leemkuil were a large wooden fortress and a Mayan temple . A train also runs on the site. Because the playground was outdated and the pit regularly filled with water, a major refurbishment of the playground was started in 2016.
Rijkerswoerdse PlassenThe Rijkerswoerdse Plassen is a Dutch recreation area in the province of Gelderland . Located in the municipality of Overbetuwe , between the Arnhem district of De Laar and the Overbetuwe village of Elst . It is part of Park Lingezegen. The area consists of two lakes that have been created by sand extraction since the late 1970s and is named after the hamlet that was located nearby until the construction of the Arnhem district of Rijkerswoerd.
SpiegelwaalThe Spiegelwaal is a secondary channel of approximately 4 kilometers in the Waal near Nijmegen. The channel was constructed between 2013 and 2015 as part of the Room for the Waal project. The Spiegelwaal is not a through route for shipping. The water is therefore particularly suitable for water sports such as canoeing, rowing, windsurfing and sailing. A rescue brigade is also active for water sports enthusiasts and recreational swimming.
StreekpadThe Streekpad Nijmegen is a regional path with a length of 117 kilometers around Nijmegen . The trail is marked with yellow-red signs in both directions and described in a guidebook. The path is managed by Wandelnet. The route has connections to public transport with stations in Nijmegen , Wijchen and Ravenstein . The other places can be reached by bus. Camping options are reasonably widely available along and a short distance from the route.
