This waterfall looks somewhat like the famous Athirappilly Waterfalls, but smaller. You have to trek 6 km through the forests of Chinnar to reach the falls. The forests are said to be an easy place to spot wild animals but since we were in the off season, we did not see any apart from the Lion Tailed Macaques. The trek is alright, not so steep or anything and you will have to cross around four rivers while on the way to the falls. You can even swim in them so bring towels if you want to do that. For sure it will be an awesome experience. The trek starts from the forest office at Alampetty from where the passes will be issued. There will be a forest guard who follows you throughout the hike as the place is frequented by elephant herds and other animals. The fall, at the end of the 3 km long trail is a large and fierce one and you cant bath anywhere near it, its too dangerous. The forests was lush green while we visited but I hear that it is not the case always. Most times of the year it is pretty dry.
